What self-driving car software can learn from playing video games(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Open-world driving games like Grand Theft Auto V aren’t just for lawless virtual joyrides anymore. They’re offering new learning opportunities for the artificial intelligence algorithms in self-driving cars.

The video game’s worlds are so intricately designed they can easily be adapted to simulate real-life events—such as a toddler running into the road—to provide a near-perfect testing ground for autonomous vehicles when cruising real roads isn’t an option. You’re probably wondering how viable of a training experience these simulated drives can be. The answer is: very.

These simulations aren’t meant to replace real-life road training. Instead, think of the game as a way for developers to enhance their algorithms. If a car experiences faulty programming while on the road, developers can then recreate the situation virtually to test over-and-over again. Even better, simulators don’t require fuel or the risks of road tests while engineers are working out the bugs.

Waymo, formerly known as Google Self-driving Car Project, has used simulations to test and further develop its fleet for over a year now.

“If the simulator shows better driving is called for, our engineers can make refinements to the software, and run those changes in simulation in order to test the fixes,” a Google report from January 2016 states.

Though Waymo hasn’t been using GTA V as its simulator, many companies are tweaking the game to specifically apply to driving—which isn’t a very heavy lift. The comprehensive and immersive design of GTA V easily compares to other driving simulators companies are already using.

If you’re still concerned about self-driving cars training through a video game, don’t be. The cars have lots of real-life driving to do before they can be released unsupervised onto our roads.

Police hunt for man who broadcast murder on Facebook(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Police across the Northeast and Midwest are currently hunting for Steve Stephens, a man accused of broadcasting himself shooting a man on Facebook.

An arrest warrant was issued for Stephens for the murder of Robert Godwin, who police say was a complete stranger.

In the video, which was uploaded to Facebook, Stephens approaches Godwin, a 74-year-old grandfather of 13 who was walking down the street in northeast Cleveland, and asks him to say the name, “Joy Lane.” When Godwin repeats the name, Stephens responds that she is the reason “this is about to happen to you.”

Godwin then began pleading when apparently, though is not shown, Stephens draws a weapon. He then shoots Godwin, before filming his body.

“That motherfucker dead ’cause of you, Joy,” Stephens said.

Police say the suspect then used Facebook Live, which allows users to uploaded prerecorded video, to broadcast the shooting.

On his Facebook page, which has since been locked down, NBC reports he bragged about killing 12 others, before increasing that number to 15.

“In a series of posts Sunday on what authorities said was Stephens’ Facebook page complained that he had ‘lost everything’ to gambling. The posts named specific people whom the user wanted to talk to, and at one point he wrote ‘I killed 12 people today’ and wouldn’t stop until he could speak to his mother and a second woman.

“Later, the user posted: ‘I killed 15 today because of [the second woman].’ The user called it his ‘Easter day slaughter.’”

Police in Cleveland say that they are aware of no other victims.

Speaking to Cleveland.com, Godwin’s son, Robert Godwin Jr., said that he had not seen the video.

“I haven’t even looked at my cellphone or the news. I don’t really want to see it.”

The social media sharing of the killing is similar to the shooting in August 2015 of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, two employees at a CBS affiliate in southwest Virginia by Vester Lee Flanagan II. Flanagan committed suicide after a statewide manhunt.

Stephens is believed to be driving a white Ford Fusion and may have fled the state. The FBI is assisting in the hunt for Stephens, and authorities said he could be anywhere from Michigan or Indiana to New York or Pennsylvania.

In a statement about the video, Facebook said: “This is a horrific crime and we do not allow this kind of content on Facebook.”

13 Actresses Known for Roles Opposite to Who They Are in Real Life(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

It’s an actresses job to act (duh). It can’t be all too surprising some actresses don’t necessarily identify with their characters. Many of the most popular cinematic villains and heroines are played by actresses who say they don’t have the time or the energy to be that bad or good in real life. It stands there are so many actresses who are different than their characters.

Game of Thrones‘s Lena Headey is one of those actresses who are nothing like their characters. She’s a self-described “clumsy nerd” who has never wine-boarded anyone, nor slept with a relative. Gilmore Girls‘s Alexis Bledel is another of these actresses known for roles that are nothing like they are. She’s even mentioned her belief that Rory Gilmore is too perfect. Maybe that’s the reason she nearly showed some nip on Mad Men?

Of the many Hollywood actresses who are different than their characters, which do you think are the most dissimilar? Cast your votes below!

Alexis Bledel

In real life: Alexis Bledel is a normal person who isn’t perfect. She also hates coffee. And she has a child with Vincent Kartheiser, formerly Pete on Mad Men. Sure, she dated Milo Ventimiglia (Jess from Gilmore Girls), but it was probably way more steamy in real life, right?

In film and TV roles: Bledel met her husband when she played his mistress, revealing there’s more to the actress than Rory Gilmore. To many, those are fightin’ words, but even Bledel has said Rory was too good to be true, and she was “annoyed” by the character’s perfection. The actress has returned for the Gilmore Girls revival A Year in the Life on Netflix, and this time around Rory’s got more cracks in her facade.

Notable quote: “I just want to live each moment, but it’s kind of hard to do that when you are asked to analyze yourself constantly. But it’s also good in that you are forced to think about things that you don’t ordinarily think about. I think it’s strange.”

Top 10 Reasons Earth Is Flat(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Technology has reached an advanced level and science has been able to offer us evidence that the Earth is round (or if you want a precise term – an oblate spheroid). However, even today you have people ready to believe the claims that we thought were gone during the Middle Ages. These guys are convinced that the Earth is flat, despite all the satellite images and other things that claim otherwise. Here are the top 10 reasons why to believe their theory.

#10 Satellite Images Are Fake

The flat Earth theorists don’t actually have any evidence to support their own theory, unlike their counterparts (that is, normal people). However, they are prepared not to accept all the images and other materials coming from satellites. It doesn’t matter that William Anders got the picture of the Earthrise from the Moon itself in 1968, which clearly shows that the Earth is round and moving. All those photos are not worth anything, claim the flat-Earthers, simply because they are faked.
