Man dragged off United flight is recovering in Chicago hospital(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

David Dao, the 69-year-old Kentucky doctor who was dragged from an overbooked United Airlines flight Sunday, told WLKY he is recovering in a Chicago hospital.

When asked what his injuries were, Dao told WLKY “everything” and that he was not doing well.

“The family of Dr. Dao wants the world to know that they are very appreciative of the outpouring of prayers, concern, and support they have received,” the family’s attorney Stephen Golan said in a statement. “Currently, they are focused only on Dr. Dao’s medical care and treatment.”

Dao’s injuries incurred after United asked passengers to volunteer to give up their seats for crew members on a flight out of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. When no one volunteered, Dao was randomly picked from a computer but refused to go, saying he was a doctor and had patients to see. Video of Dao being forcibly removed from the flight by airport police has gone viral, leading to an uproar over the controversial handling of the situation.

In one video you can see Dao’s entire face covered in blood, having been hit on impact before being dragged off. Ten minutes after being escorted off the plane, Dao was seen running back onboard.

In a statement Tuesday—his third since Monday—United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz called the incident “truly horrific,” telling employees, “No one should ever be mistreated this way.” After previous attempts at lesser apologies, Munoz said he’s committed to fixing the situation by reviewing the company’s policies for seeking volunteers to give up their seats, handling oversold flights, and partnering with airport officials. The results of the review are said to be released by April 30.

According to Aviation Department spokeswoman Karen Pride, a Chicago Aviation Department police officer is on paid leave “pending a thorough review of the situation” for not following standard operating procedure during the incident.

North Carolina bill seeks to ban gay marriage(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Three Republican lawmakers in North Carolina filed a bill Tuesday that would ban gay marriage ceremonies and prohibit the state from recognizing same-sex marriage or civil unions, according to a local Raleigh report.

The “Uphold Historical Marriage Act,” or HB 780, states that the 2015 Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage “not only exceeds the authority of the Court relative to the State of North Carolina… but also exceeds the authority of the Court relative to the decree of Almighty God.”

North Carolina Reps. Larry Pittman (R-Kinston), Michael Speciale (R-Craven), and Carl Ford (R-Rowan) are the primary sponsors of the bill, which also directly cites the book of Genesis, stating that legalizing gay marriage threatens the biblical ideal that “man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

HB 780 isn’t the state’s first proposed amendment that would delegitimize gay marriage. In May 2012, justices struck down Amendment One in North Carolina’s state constitution, which prohibited North Carolina from recognizing or performing same-sex marriages within state bounds. More than 60 percent of voters who cast a ballot in 2012 voted for Amendment One.

If passed, the bill will prohibit gay marriage in all capacities across the state.

Say one last goodbye to the heavily criticized Windows Vista(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Microsoft has officially taken Windows Vista off life support after a decade of criticism.

The company announced it would end support for the operating system today, and force users to switch to a newer version or be vulnerable to viruses. The OS will no longer receive security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. Internet Explorer 9 will also no longer be supported, and therefore become open to attacks.

If, for whatever reason, you still use Vista, now is the time to stop.

Windows Vista was released worldwide to the public in early 2007 to strong criticism. Its graphic-heavy interface asked for hefty computer hardware requirements, while a number of launch-day bugs and a high starting price resulted in disappointing sales figures. Its adoption was so low, Microsoft extended its sales of Windows XP five months longer than initially intended, and laptop vendors including Dell, HP, and Lenovo continued to include a copy of XP after they were no longer allowed to sell laptops with it preinstalled.

But not everything about Windows Vista was a failure. Its Aero interface, while perhaps a bit before its time, made its way into the critically acclaimed Windows 7. And many reviewers lauded its new security and search features.

Vista was replaced much earlier than most expected. While it took five and a half years for Microsoft to upgrade XP to Vista, it would only take two more years to release Windows 7. By that time, Vista still hadn’t surpassed XP in market share. It was only in 2011 when Windows 7 took the title.

Vista ultimately paved the way for the fantastic Windows 7, much how the failing of Windows 8 has resulted in the significantly improved Windows 10. Vista might have been a trough in Microsoft’s reliability up-and-down Windows releases, but its still not easy to say goodbye—even to an old enemy.

13 Actresses Known for Roles Opposite to Who They Are in Real Life(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

It’s an actresses job to act (duh). It can’t be all too surprising some actresses don’t necessarily identify with their characters. Many of the most popular cinematic villains and heroines are played by actresses who say they don’t have the time or the energy to be that bad or good in real life. It stands there are so many actresses who are different than their characters.

Game of Thrones‘s Lena Headey is one of those actresses who are nothing like their characters. She’s a self-described “clumsy nerd” who has never wine-boarded anyone, nor slept with a relative. Gilmore Girls‘s Alexis Bledel is another of these actresses known for roles that are nothing like they are. She’s even mentioned her belief that Rory Gilmore is too perfect. Maybe that’s the reason she nearly showed some nip on Mad Men?

Of the many Hollywood actresses who are different than their characters, which do you think are the most dissimilar? Cast your votes below!

Alexis Bledel

In real life: Alexis Bledel is a normal person who isn’t perfect. She also hates coffee. And she has a child with Vincent Kartheiser, formerly Pete on Mad Men. Sure, she dated Milo Ventimiglia (Jess from Gilmore Girls), but it was probably way more steamy in real life, right?

In film and TV roles: Bledel met her husband when she played his mistress, revealing there’s more to the actress than Rory Gilmore. To many, those are fightin’ words, but even Bledel has said Rory was too good to be true, and she was “annoyed” by the character’s perfection. The actress has returned for the Gilmore Girls revival A Year in the Life on Netflix, and this time around Rory’s got more cracks in her facade.

Notable quote: “I just want to live each moment, but it’s kind of hard to do that when you are asked to analyze yourself constantly. But it’s also good in that you are forced to think about things that you don’t ordinarily think about. I think it’s strange.”
