What Effect Does Caffeine Have on People with ADHD?(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

In a person with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, chemical or physical differences in the brain can lead to a variety or a combination of symptoms, including inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that is estimated to affect between 5-11 percent of children in the United States.

Most people can have trouble paying attention or settling down at times. For a person with ADHD, these symptoms can interfere with normal development or daily life. The symptoms are severe and occur frequently.

ADHD often starts during childhood, but it can occur at any age. Many adults may have ADHD, but the number is unknown because it is likely that only a small percentage receive a diagnosis.

Caffeine and ADHD

Cheers with glasses of soda
Caffeine may be similar to some ADHD prescriptions that are stimulant-based, but it may not be safe for everyone.

Because most ADHD prescriptions are stimulant-based, it may seem strange to use caffeine as a treatment.

The usage may depend upon a person’s age, health status, and how severe their symptoms are.

A study in European Neuropsychopharmacology suggests that caffeine could be useful as an ADHD treatment, as it appears to normalize levels of dopamine and improve attention in people with ADHD.

Another study in Medical Hypotheses suggests that caffeinated tea may help adults with ADHD.

Though caffeine is similar to ADHD medications, some drawbacks should be considered before using it:

  • Most foods and drinks contain varying amounts of caffeine. A person may not know exactly how much caffeine they are getting from food or drinks. Even brewed coffee or tea can vary greatly in its caffeine content from cup to cup. This can make it difficult to measure how much is needed, or how much is too much.
  • Caffeine alone may not be enough to treat ADHD. ADHD medications contain higher, controlled doses of stimulants designed to treat the disorder. Consuming caffeinated foods and drinks may not be enough, especially for people who have more severe cases.
  • Adding caffeine to ADHD medications can cause stimulant overload. Using caffeine alongside a stimulant medication may result in too much total stimulant intake. This increases the risk of adverse effects.

Stimulants can be safe and effective as an ADHD treatment, but they are not safe for everyone.

People with the following health conditions may be advised to avoid stimulants:

Potential adverse effects of stimulants include:

  • Trouble sleeping
  • Lower appetite or stomach ache
  • Anxiety or irritability
  • Headaches
  • Tics, which are sudden repetitive movements or sounds
  • Shaking or tremors

These side effects are more likely to occur if a person has high amounts of a stimulant, or if they consume much more than usual. Some people are more sensitive than others to caffeine and stimulants in general.

Caffeine and children

Doctor talking with mother and daughter
Studies suggest caffeine may affect children’s growth and development. The advice of a healthcare professional should be sought before using caffeine as an ADHD treatment.

Caffeine should only be used as an ADHD treatment in children and teenagers with a doctor’s guidance.

Before giving caffeine to a child, parents may need to consider the following:

  • The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics say many kids are already exceeding a healthy level of caffeine consumption, mostly through soda. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have not stated set limits, but the Canadian government recommend not exceeding 45 milligrams (mg) for 4-6 year-olds, 62 mg for 7-9-year-olds, and 85 mg for 10-12-year-olds. A 12-ounce soda contains 30-48 mg of caffeine.
  • A study in Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews suggests that caffeine could affect children and teens differently from adults. Caffeine-containing beverages such as soda can interfere with growth and brain development through disruption of sleep and lack of proper nutrition.
  • A report in the journal Canadian Family Physician states that caffeine consumption among children and teens with ADHD can be dangerous, potentially raising the heart rate and blood pressure.
  • ADHD can cause an increase in risky behavior, and combining caffeine with alcohol may be an issue for children and teens with ADHD. Caffeine can mask the effects of alcohol, so a person may drink more of both substances than is safe.
  • The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend not giving children energy drinks, as the high levels of caffeine and other stimulants they contain can cause serious health problems. Seizures, heart problems, and mood or behavior issues have been reported after consuming these beverages, according to the journal Pediatrics.
  • Children with ADHD have more sleep problems and daytime sleepiness, according to a study in the journal Sleep. Since caffeine and other stimulants can interfere with sleep, parents should limit its use to morning hours, or eliminate it from the diet altogether.

Sugar and common caffeine sources

Glass of sugar cubes
Soda and sweetened coffee drinks may contain high amounts of sugar.

There may be other health considerations to make before using caffeine.

Regular soda contains caffeine, but the added sugar can easily exceed the recommended daily intake. The American Heart Association (AMA) recommend no more than 25 grams of sugar daily for children, 24 grams for women, and 36 grams for men. A 12-ounce can of soda contains 39 grams.

Too much sugar can lead to obesity and dental cavities, and it adds no nutritional value to the diet.

Soda is not the only source of excess sugar. Sweetened coffee drinks and sweet teas may also contain high amounts of sugar.

Unsweetened black or green tea as well as unsweetened coffee are caffeine sources that do not contain added sugar.

Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners as an alternative to sugar, but it should be consumed in moderation.

The American Academy of Pediatrics do not specifically advise against using diet soda, but do recommend water as the primary source of hydration for children. A report in Diabetes Care suggests using artificial sweeteners in moderate amounts.

More research is needed on artificial sweeteners before recommendations can be made on their use.

Caffeine is the most widely used drug in the world. It may hold promise as an ADHD treatment, but it should be used carefully and with a doctor’s guidance, especially in children.

ADHD treatment with stimulants

People with ADHD may be treated with therapy, medications, or both. Many ADHD medications contain a stimulant, which increases activity in the nervous system.

Stimulants increase the brain’s levels of dopamine and norepinephrine. These two chemicals are important for focus and concentration, and it is thought they may be lacking in people with ADHD.

Caffeine is the best-known stimulant in the world, but the stimulant found in ADHD medication tends to be stronger than a cup of coffee or tea.

Stimulants normally make people more hyperactive and jittery, but for people with ADHD, they often have the opposite effect.

They relieve the symptoms of ADHD by increasing focus and memory, and reducing hyperactivity and impulsivity.

How 6 Everyday Ingredients Create The Ultimate Immunity-Boosting Soup(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

This easy soup is full of immunity-boosting foods: vitamin C-rich kale, vitamin D-enhanced mushrooms, zinc-containing chicken and chickpeas, and antioxidant-packed garlic. Plus, the hot, steamy broth and a hint of pepper heat get your nose running—great for flushing out sinuses and potentially staving off an infection. It’s a big pot of brothy soup that you can make ahead and enjoy for a couple of days; the flavor just gets better over time. You may be wary of the large amount of garlic, but keep in mind that it mellows considerably after being cooked. Though we love using bone-in chicken breasts here, you can also swap in 3 cups shredded rotisserie chicken breast in a pinch (be aware that it will add more sodium).

View Recipe: Immunity Soup

The 6 Immunity Boosters that Make This Soup Effective and Flavorful

Chickpeas: A good source of zinc. As with vitamin D, a zinc deficiency is associated with lowered immunity. Red meat and chicken are also zinc-rich.

Dark leafy greens: Kale and similar greens are rich in the antioxidant vitamin C. The C, paired with zinc from the chicken and chickpeas, delivers a one-two knockout blow to cold symptoms.

Garlic: These bulbs contain allicin, one of the world’s most powerful antioxidants. A 2014 study found that people who eat garlic every day are nearly two-thirds less likely to catch a cold than non–garlic eaters.

Hot broth: Steaming stock makes your nose run, which helps flush out congestion. Broth-based soups also keep you hydrated.

Crushed red pepper: Capsaicin, which adds heat, can clear sinuses.

Mushrooms: Look for fungi labeled vitamin D-rich; they’re grown in ultraviolet light to spur D production. A deficiency in the nutrient has been linked to an increased risk of infection.

Bill O’Reilly will be investigated for sexual harassment, says his accuser’s attorney(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

According to the attorney for Wendy Walsh, one of multiple women who’ve reportedly leveled sexual assault allegations at Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, 21st Century Fox will conduct an investigation into the longtime anchor’s behavior.

Lisa Bloom, who represents Walsh, broke the news during an appearance on CNN’s Reliable Sources with Brian Stelter on Sunday afternoon, saying that her client’s call to the the anonymous hotline for Fox News’s parent company has spurred an internal investigation.

In the aftermath of a major report by the New York Times last week, detailing multiple sexual harassment allegations against O’Reilly, the host put out an official statement denying wrongdoing. He also noted that “no one has ever filed a complaint about me with the Human Resources Department, even on the anonymous hotline.”

That’s no longer true, however, as Bloom and Walsh proved by filming their call to the hotline.

It was that call, according to Bloom, which seems to have set in motion the internal investigation.

Said Bloom: “On Friday, we received a return phone call from a couple of attorneys who represent Fox News, and they said that they are indeed going to do an investigation based on Wendy’s complaint. I told them we really appreciate that, and let’s get going as soon as possible. And so, I am told that they are taking it seriously and they are going to do the investigation that’s legally required of them.”

Walsh has been very public about her allegations against O’Reilly, with an eye toward improving working conditions for other women. That’s what she told CNN’s Don Lemon last week, flatly stating that she’s “not after money.” Walsh alleges that after a number of on-air appearances on O’Reilly’s show in 2013, the 67-year-old host first promised her a job as a recurring contributor over a business dinner and then angrily withdrew the offer after she refused to have sex with him.

Walsh’s allegations echo what’s publicly known of other accusations against O’Reilly throughout the years, although not all of his accusers are at liberty to speak about their experiences due to the terms of their settlements. In addition to Walsh and former Fox News host Andrea Tantaros, both of whom have made public accusations, O’Reilly has reportedly shelled out a combined $13 million in settlements to five women, all of whom worked at Fox News: former producers Rachel Witlieb Bernstein and Andrea Mackris, and on-air talent Rebecca Gomez Diamond, Laurie Dhue, and Juliet Huddy.

Since the Times‘s report, at least 60 national advertisers have pulled their money from O’Reilly’s show.

Update 3:35pm PT, April 9:“21st Century Fox investigates all complaints and we have asked the law firm Paul Weiss to continue assisting the company in these serious matters.”

Anne Hathaway reveals an uncomfortable truth about her own sexist behavior.(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Anne Hathaway is getting a lot of praise for her surprising confession about on-set misogyny in a recent interview.

Sitting down with ABC’s Peter Travers, who asked if there was a particular film of hers that stayed with her because of the lessons learned during production, Hathaway surprised everyone with her response.

She pointed to her 2011 film “One Day” and her experience working with a female director (Lone Scherfig), which forced her to confront something she hadn’t noticed before: not just that misogyny exists, but that Hathaway herself was guilty of harboring it.

Hathaway regrets “not trusting [Scherfig] more easily” on set, she explained.

“I’m so scared that I treated her with internalized misogyny,” Hathaway said. “I’m scared that I didn’t give her everything that she needed … because I was resisting her on some level. It’s something that I’ve thought a lot about in terms of when I get scripts to be directed by women.”

Hathaway admitted a troubling pattern she noticed in her own behavior. When given a script written by a woman or watching a film directed by a woman, she tended to automatically look for flaws; when looking at the work of men, however, she would subconsciously focus on what they did right.

The first step to overcoming this kind of unconscious bias is to be aware of it and how it affects the work around you.

In Hathaway’s case, it was acknowledging that she may have struggled to trust a director because of her gender. Whether it’s regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or a number of other social and cultural factors, we all have our own biases — even if we don’t know it. And sometimes, like in Hathaway’s case, it can even be a bias against your own group.

Acknowledging your own biases can be hard; admitting them publicly can be even trickier, which is what makes Hathaway’s admission so refreshing.

Hathaway hopes her comments will inspire others to more closely examine their own unconscious prejudices. On Facebook, actress Rose McGowan wrote about her own experience with internalized misogyny and female directors.

Photo by Nicholas Hunt/Getty Images for Christian Dior Couture.

To unravel our own biases, we need to start with self-awareness. Hopefully, Hathaway’s own honesty will inspire more people to give themselves a periodic bias-check.

All About Vitiligo(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

The development of white patches on the skin which may progressively start spreading all over your skin results in the chronic skin disorder known as vitiligo. This skin disorder is often a cause for social embarrassment for many people and may also affect their self-esteem by denting their self-image.

A little more about Vitiligo- The condition is caused due to the death of melanocytes which are the pigment administering agents of the skin. The melanocytes are responsible for the production and distribution of melanin. It may start with a small section of the skin and then spread to other areas of the body and if left untreated may result in the total loss of skin pigmentation. The area of the skin affected by this disorder generally varies from individual to individual. It might occur in the insides of your mouth, hair or eyes and may cause permanent discoloration.

Vitiligo can be classified as-

  1. Segmental Vitiligo: Even though this condition is stable, it tends to spread faster than the other form of vitiligo. It is asymmetrical in nature and affects the areas of skin that are connected to the nerves originating in the dorsal roots along the spinal cord.
  2. Non- Segmental Vitiligo: This form of vitiligo occurs in symmetric levels on both sides of the body. Frequent exposure to the sun causes this condition.

Causes- Although, there is no certified cause of vitiligo, the likely causes include chemical exposure, trauma from a stressful event, and genetics. Complications in the immune system may also cause this problem and many classify this as an autoimmune disorder as well.

Symptoms- The main symptom is the appearance of white patches on the skin. Initially, the patches are slightly pale in colour. They become paler with the passing of time and eventually turn white. This makes their appearance on the skin, distinct and prominent. Itching might result due to inflammation occurring at the edge of the patches although this varies from person to person. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

5 Nutrition Myths You Need To Know About(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

When it comes to something like nutrition, it’s very necessary to distinguish between myths and facts. Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about nutrition, which are so well circulated and popular that they have acquired the status of facts. Following these lies can not only increase the risks of chronic health issues but also decrease your lifespan.

Here are some of the most prevalent nutrition myths and the truth behind them.

1. The most significant meal of the day is breakfast – Breakfast doesn’t necessarily always qualify as the most important meal of the day as established by multiple studies. Most studies favor the fact that having healthy meals always prove to be beneficial irrespective of the time of the day. Moreover, cultivating the habit of intermittent fasting (which comprises skipping breakfast) has been observed to provide a lot of health benefits

2. Consuming seed and vegetable oils rich in omega-6 fats is beneficial for you – Most of the seed and vegetable oils available in the market are highly processed and their consumption in huge amounts can cause an imbalance in the ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fats in your body. The presence of excessive amount of omega-6 fats affect your health by adding to the probability of getting cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, rheumatoid arthritis and many other disorders. Moreover, some of these oils are also manufactured using genetic engineering, which adds to their unsuitability for consumption in large quantities

3. Artificial Sweeteners enable you to shed extra weight – The most common factors that lead people towards consuming artificial sweeteners are the urge to lose weight and/or to manage diabetes. However, studies reveal that artificial sweeteners contribute more to weight gain than caloric sweeteners. This happens because they increase your hunger and craving for sweets, which in turn does nothing to limit your normal sugar intake. On the contrary, these artificial sweeteners have a negative impact on the human body’s usual ability to “count calories,” resulting in intake of more calorie rich foods

4. Whole grains are among the healthiest foods – Whole grains are considered to be highly beneficial by most people but it remains largely unknown that excessive consumption of any types of grain including whole grains lead to rise in insulin and leptin levels in your body, which in turn, adds to the risk of chronic diseases. Also, people who suffer from insulin/leptin resistance, high levels of insulin and leptin may lead to high blood pressure, imbalanced cholesterol level, diabetes and excessive body weight. Moreover, gluten is also present in whole grains, which is known for stimulating sensitivities and allergies

5. Low-carb diets are bad for your health – Low-carb diets are criticized by most nutritionists for having high fat content, but research contradicts this. Studies prove that low-carb diets are good for weight loss, keeping blood pressure level in control, increasing good cholesterol and lowering blood sugar level.

Android 7.1.2 Update Breaking Finger Scanner On Nexus And Pixel Devices(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Recently, the tech giant Google began to bring the final version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat to their Nexus and Pixel devices. Intended to fix some problems, this version seems to be bringing new problems along with it.

Android 7.1.2 Update Breaking Finger Scanner On Nexus And Pixel Devices

The tech giant Google began last week to bring the final version of Android 7.1.2 to their Nexus and Pixel devices. Intended to fix some problems, this version seems to be bringing new problems along with it.

There are already several users who are complaining that this new version no longer recognizes the fingerprint reader of Google smartphones.

This is not yet a general release, but many Nexus and Pixel users started this week to get the final version of Android 7.1.2. Being a bug fix release, the tech giant Google has invested in trial versions so it’s as close to perfect as possible.

The various issues it handles have not yet been revealed by Google, but apparently, there is a new one that is being reported by users. The fingerprint reader no longer recognizes the users’ fingers, so it is not possible to unlock the operating system.

Google has not yet acknowledged the problem, but complaints are gathering, showing that this problem is real and that it is even affecting Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

Strangely, the problem seems to affect only fingerprint recognition, since the gestures on the sensor seem to work without any problem, giving access to the notifications without any problem.

As it is normal in these situations, several solutions have been tested, from the registration of new fingerprints, start in safe mode or until the phone’s full reset, but none of them seems to have worked.

Google will probably launch in the next few days a new update for Android that will fix this problem and bring back the correct operation of the fingerprint reader to the Nexus and Pixel devices.

Three iPhones to Be Released in 2017 – Overhauled Version to Get Curved Screen and Stainless Steel Frame(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Several rumors have continuously pointed out that Apple will be releasing three new iPhone models possibly during the month of September. Their names according to numerous reports are the iPhone 8 (also known as iPhone X, or the iPhone Edition), iPhone 7s, and iPhone 7s Plus. While you guys might be aware of how many variants are going to be announced this year, perhaps this latest report may shed light on additional information that might not have occurred to you.

Advanced Cameras, Flat OLED Panel and Curved Glass Said to Be Part of the New iPhone

Some reports have stated that the iPhone 8 will have a curved OLED sheet. However, a new report published by Mark Gunman and Min-Jeong Lee on Bloomberg states the following about Apple’s plans for the future.

“APPLE IS PREPARING THREE IPHONES FOR LAUNCH AS SOON AS THIS FALL, INCLUDING UPGRADED VERSIONS OF THE CURRENT TWO IPHONE MODELS AND A NEW TOP-OF-THE-LINE HANDSET WITH AN OVERHAULED LOOK, ACCORDING TO PEOPLE FAMILIAR WITH THE MATTER. FOR THE REDESIGNED PHONE, APPLE IS TESTING A NEW TYPE OF SCREEN, CURVED GLASS AND STAINLESS STEEL MATERIALS, AND MORE ADVANCED CAMERAS, THE PEOPLE SAID. THOSE ANXIOUSLY AWAITING THE REDESIGNED IPHONE, HOWEVER, MAY HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE SUPPLY CONSTRAINTS COULD MEAN THE DEVICE ISN’T READILY AVAILABLE UNTIL ONE OR TWO MONTHS AFTER THE TYPICAL FALL INTRODUCTION.”

Keep in mind that the report says nothing about a curved OLED panel, but a flat display that will take up a large portion of the smartphone’s front side. What will be curved is the glass on the back and front of the phone. The glass material is going to be used in order to allow wireless charging for the radically changed iPhone 8.

Removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack will need something in return and this is probably going to be the only substitute available to allow the user to charge and listen to media on their mobile device. One reason why Apple might not opt for a curved OLED panel is due to supply constraints.

Do you prefer this report related to the design of the iPhone 8 or do you prefer something different? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Bon Appétit Food Magazine’s May Cover Was Shot Using iPhone 7 Plus(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

It seems as though professional photographers are really liking the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as Bon Appétit has graced Apple’s smartphone to shoot its May cover entirely.

Bon Appétit Food Magazine Uses iPhone 7 Plus to Shoot its May Cover, Because Why Not!

Apart from using professional gear worth thousands of dollars, photographers tend to go out of way to get that perfect shot. For instance, back in February it came to light that Billboard went ahead photographing the cover of their magazine using an iPhone 7 Plus, because it was a unique take and the photographer shooting the cover had not pulled off such a thing before. Now though, food magazine Bon Appétit has jumped into the picture and pulled off its May cover using an iPhone 7 Plus only. Take a look below and see for yourself what Apple’s smartphone is capable of churning out.

The photo was taken by Peden + Munk, and it makes sense why an iPhone 7 Plus was the best camera choice for the cover as well. That’s because the May issue is all about travel, therefore a connection with taking a photo using a smartphone made sense, and so it was done, revealed Creative Director Alex Grossman to TechCrunch.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR ALEX GROSSMAN SAID IT MADE SENSE TO FINALLY PUT AN IPHONE PIC OUT FRONT WITH THE MAY TRAVEL ISSUE, PARTICULARLY GIVEN THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PHOTOGRAPHY AND TRAVEL. THE COVER WAS SHOT ON AN IPHONE 7 PLUS, IN THE TLACOULA MARKET OF OAXACA, MEXICO, AND IT COMBINES PEOPLE AND FOOD, WITH A WOMAN SHOWING OFF A STRAWBERRY PALETA.

Photographers Peden + Munk also revealed that shooting the cover using the iPhone felt natural as well, while the entire experience felt like a throwback to their early days of shooting. Also, it was revealed that the image was edited using the VSCO for iOS app in a remote location such as a bar or a brunch stop, negating the need to pull out a laptop to do the same.

It is worth mentioning here that Apple advertises its products frequently in Bon Appétit, and this particular issue is no exception at all as the Cupertino giant has advertised that the cover was shot using an iPhone.

Galaxy S8 & Galaxy S8+ Have Surpassed the One Million Pre-Order Record(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Customers have displayed a very high demand for both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, with the latest report detailing that both their combined units have surpassed the one million pre-order mark.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Have Gathered Five Times the Number of Pre-Orders as Opposed to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge for the Same Time Period

In comparison to last year’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, both of these phones accumulated just 200,000 combined pre-orders while the ill-fated Galaxy Note7 managed to accumulate 400,000 pre-orders during the same time span.

It should be noted that the latest pre-order statistics courtesy of Yonhap have been detailed for just South Korea so the actual number for the entire globe will be even higher. It goes without saying that Samsung also gave its home turf some preferential treatment as upgraded models of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ that featured 6GB RAM and 128GB of native storage were also sold. Placing a pre-order for the Galaxy S8+ would definitely set the customer back by quite a bit of funds, but Samsung was going to make up for that by throwing in a free DeX Station worth $149.99.

According to industry watchers, around 70-80 percent of these pre-orders will be converted into actual sales, so, for now, we could be looking at 700,000-800,000 units sold in this region alone. Previous detailed reports have claimed that Samsung initially expects around 40 million combined units to be sold, but that figure could rise to 43-60 million units. However, it has not been reported how many months it will take Samsung to reach that figure, but our gut tells us that it will achieve that number until the end of 2017.

Both devices will officially launch in other countries starting from April 21. Users can opt to purchase a DeX Station and transform their workspace completely, but as stated before, it will cost you $149.99.

Are you impressed so far with the pre-order numbers that Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been able to garner? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

iMac Models With Server-Grade Hardware Rumored to Launch in Q3 2017 – Xeon Processors Listed(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Apple has been rumored to step up the hardware game for its upcoming iMac models, with the latest rumor stating that these machines are going to be touting server-grade hardware. Though we expect that these models will still be offered in Intel’s latest desktop-grade processors, those who want to rake every ounce of performance can opt to purchase those versions that feature even more powerful internals.

Apple Will Retain the Screen Sizes of Its iMac Family – 27-Inch Will Be the Largest Variant and Can Sport an Intel Xeon Processor and up to 64GB of ECC RAM

The first rumor also stated that Apple’s future iMac models will feature Intel’s Xeon processor coupled with ultra-fast PCIe-based NVMe solid state storage and ECC RAM. The advantage of having ECC RAM present in a computer is that it can detect and repair errors on its own, preventing crashes and data corruption as a result, which is also why they carry a very high price tag.

According to the latest report from DigiTimes, the new machines are going to be hitting the market during the third quarter of 2017. The ECC RAM portion of the iMac can be configured to feature between 16GB to 64GB, but creative professionals will naturally be requiring all of that memory. In addition, the source also states that an Intel Xeon E3-1285 v6 processor will be a part of the hardware. Intel has not introduced such a chip to the market and the closest thing to it is the Xeon E3-1285 v3, which is based on the 22nm architecture (and is no longer being produced).

This particular processor features a total of four cores and eight threads with the base clock speed running at 3.60GHz. We understand that the iMac is going to be a thin AIO so using an extremely powerful chip will mean that the cooling system will not be able to dissipate the heat faster so that’s what the upcoming Mac Pro will be designed to do.

A quad-core processor running on an iMac seems like the ideal configuration and we also believe that Apple will be including Intel’s 7th generation of i5 and i7 processors in the mix.

What do you think about the latest rumor involving the hardware powering the upcoming iMac models? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

AI Can Predict Heart Attacks More Accurately Than Doctors(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Every year, it is estimated that 20 million people die from cardiovascular disease, but this is another number that, thanks to technology, could decrease.

In the United Kingdom, an algorithm based on artificial intelligence is being developed that is able to predict more effectively than the current methods the probability of a person having a heart attack or a stroke.

Currently, risks of cardiovascular disease are assessed based on guidelines defined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC / AHA), where factors such as age, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure come in.

However, this may be too simplistic an assessment, according to some experts, since there is a lot of interaction in biological systems that are ultimately “counterintuitive.” That is, for some patients body fat may be a risk, but for others, it may even be protecting the body against cardiovascular problems.

According to Stephen Weng, an epidemiologist at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, there are no equal bodies, each has its own reality and it is the science of computing that will allow us to explore these different realities, Providing them with predictions of problems in a more precise way.

In this study, conducted by the University of Nottingham and based on Artificial Intelligence were compared the guidelines defined by ACC / AHA with four machine-learning algorithms: random forest Logical regression, gradient increase, and neural networks. This artificial intelligence process analyzed the electronic data of 3,78,256 patients in the UK with the aim of finding patterns associated with cardiovascular events.

Using data from patients in 2005, the system predicted that those who, 10 years from now, would have cardiovascular problems, analyzing at least 22 other factors in the analysis than the ACC / AHA method, including factors such as ethnicity, arthritis, or kidney disease.

In the test sample, 83,000 records were used. This method was thus able to predict 7.6% more cardiovascular problems in the patients than they were in reality, afterward confronting with the data of 2015. In addition, false alarms were also reduced by 1.6%.

In actual numbers, this means that the method based on artificial intelligence would have been able to detect timely 355 cases that resulted in the death of patients. The technological revolution at the service of health is happening and it does not take much for the diagnostics to be done computationally.

So, what do you think about this new technology used by AI? Simply share your views and thoughts in the comment section below.

Another iPhone 8 Leaked Schematic Shows Rear-Mounted Touch ID – Another Prototype Apple’s Been Testing Out?(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

iPhone 8 with a rear-mounted Touch ID sensor might be the most awkward of places to position the fingerprint reader, most likely because we have always seen it at the bottom-front of the phone. Well, believe it or not, another schematic of the upcoming phone has leaked out, and not only is it showing the rear-facing sensor, but other notable changes that we are bound to see when the phone is hopefully announced in September.

iPhone 8 Schematic Appears to Show Touch ID in the Middle of the Phone With Vertical Camera Cutouts as Well

Twitter can hold many secrets as to what will be released later in the year and a tweet from Sonny Dickson shows that the iPhone 8 might have a rear-facing Touch ID sensor. This approach is nothing new as several smartphone manufacturers have adopted the placement of the sensor at this location. However, for Apple to follow this just seems out of place but then again, to increase the total screen real estate of the phone, the tech giant might have no choice but to follow with this design.

If design issues of incorporating the sensor beneath the sensor start to persist, then this will mark the first time that we could see an iPhone with such a security sensor orientation. In fact, the leak is in line with a previous one we covered where a rear-mounted Touch ID was mentioned and it was paired with a vertically placed dual-camera.

Before judging Apple this quickly we will say this; the company has several prototypes in the works and this is definitely one of them. Our guess is that this one is not going to be counted as the final match that will be a part of the announcement, but so far, there has been little to no word industry watchers if the fingerprint reader is going to be embedded beneath the display of the new iPhone.

However, if this is the final design of the iPhone 8, then at least future adopters will be able to take advantage of the vertically placed dual-camera setup, regardless if they are forced to get used to the position of Touch ID.

Would you be able to accept the Touch ID sensor being present at the back side? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

LG V30 Might Gravitate to OLED Technology – First Flagship From Company to Feature New Display?(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

Flagships from LG have always been released sporting an IPS LCD panel and though the argument can be made that this technology produces the best real-life colors, there are notable advantages of using OLED display technology. According to the latest rumor, it appears that the V30 could be the first smartphone from the South Korean’s bag of flagships to feature the new display. If this happens, then we could be seeing the end of LCD technology on mobile devices from the firm.

LG Ramping up OLED Production for Companies Like Xiaomi – V30 Could Be the Next Recipient of This Display Tech

LG Display was the sole supplier of OLED panels for the Apple Watch and the manufacturer also provided flexible OLED panels for Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2, which was released last year. However, producing these components on a massive scale might not be LG’s forte, at least not right now. According to the latest report courtesy of unnamed sources (via The Investor), the advanced display tech is also said to debut on the upcoming V30, which is said to be an improved iteration of the G6.

A previously reported rumor suggested that the company will be using a Snapdragon 835 and 6GB RAM combination in its upcoming flagship to make up for the lack of a 10nm FinFET SoC on the G6 that was announced earlier this year. The V30 is said to feature the same great high screen-to-body ratio, not to mention support for wireless charging and IP68 water-resistance.

Like its predecessor, the V30 could also feature a 32-bit Quad DAC but this time, we’re hoping that LG globally announces that all of its upcoming models feature both the audio chip and Qi wireless charging support. This is not something that the company did with the G6, which we’re assuming ticked off a lot of ‘would be’ happy customers living in different regions.

Another thing LG can work on is upping the internal storage. With the G6 featuring 32GB on native memory, it’s a pale figure compared to 64GB of onboard UFS 2.1 storage present on both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Apart from the OLED display technology, what other upgrades do you wish to see on the upcoming V30? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Xiaomi Mi6 Features In These 23 Official Images – Take A Look At Its Playful Design With A Graceful Look(for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

It’s official folks. Xiaomi has launched the Mi6 and the device is flagship in every sense of the word. Equipped with the Snapdragon 835, the Mi6 is right on target to compete with 2017’s existing and upcoming flagships. Xiaomi’s lost its touch since the launch of the Mi4 but now the company’s back. Not only is the Mi6 a performance packed smartphone, it’s also got an equally good design to boot. Now we’ve got all the Mi6 images that you’d want. Take a look below for more.

These Xiaomi Mi6 Official Images Show Device From All Angles

Xiaomi’s done exactly what the rumor mill promised with the Mi6. The company has built a good looking smartphone that’s within the range of the average customer. The Mi6 will retail at a price which translates to $363. For a Snnapdragon 835 smartphone, that’s as best a bargain as you can get. Outwardly, the Mi6 isn’t an average looking device either.

The company has launched the device with a four-sided curved 3D glass, which resembles the Galaxy S8/S8+’s edged display. Curved displays are the next ‘in’ thing in the smartphone world, with even the Apple iPhone 8 rumored to feature a unique 2.5D display. Design wise, the device tries to stay as simple as possible. It’s back is completely smooth, save for the dual camera setup and a vertical flash.

The Mi6 also balances a light approach towards design with hardcore hardware specifications. The device, similar to Google’s Pixel lineup looks to capture a much younger user base, simply based on its design. It’s an approach that’s gained an increasing relevance these days. Apple’s launch of the Red iPhone 7 was received very well by the market, simply because it deviated from the traditional, sombre look of black models.

At the specifications end, the Mi6 carries the Snapdragon 835, with 6GB of RAM. The device will be available in capacities of 64GB and 128GB. Color options include Black, White and Blue. You’ll also get to choose between A ceramic and a Silver special edition build. So take a look at the images above and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.

Xiaomi Mi6 Dual-Camera Official Samples Look Absolutely Spectacular [Album](for more go to http://howpeopledo.com)

The Xiaomi Mi6 is the first flagship from the manufacturer to tout a dual-camera lens configuration at the back. Both lenses feature a 12MP sensor, and with features like Portrait Mode and 2X Lossless Zoom, the company has made several advances towards the optics, as these official camera samples reveal.

12MP Dual-Cameras Come With OIS and the Portrait Mode Cleverly Blurs the Background for a Shallow Depth of Field

According to Xiaomi, the rear side compromises up of a 12MP wide-angle lens plus another 12MP telephoto lens and calls it the first 5.15-inch smartphone to feature this configuration. The wide-angle lens will be able to capture more content without the user changing positions while the telephoto lens is able to zoom into the object and capture both images and video without losing quality.

Burying the 5X Optical Zoom rumor, the Xiaomi Mi6 comes with a 2X Lossless Zoom feature that also possesses 10X Digital Zoom if you are capturing still images. The company has not detailed the level of digital zoom the user will be able to take advantage of while capturing video. While the rear camera setup features hardware stabilization, Xiaomi is yet to detail if both lens feature OIS or just one of them. Looks like we will be able to find this out when early adopters get their hands on the phone.

As stated earlier, Mi6 also comes with Portrait Mode, a feature that was exclusively available on the iPhone 7 Plus. Though the feature will work ideally outdoors, using the magic of hardware and software, you will be able to capture an image while extensively blurring the background, which is similar to the effect that you get when you snap images with a DSLR camera.

Xiaomi also states that its Mi6 features 4-axis OIS, which reduces camera shake regardless of which position you hold the smartphone to snap those images.

What are your first impressions of the Xiaomi Mi6 official camera samples? Yay or nay? Tell us your thoughts down in the comments.
